Introduction & Focus
Our laboratory at the German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE) investigates the intricate cellular biochemistry of aging mechanisms, primarily focusing on post-translational oxidative proteins and proteasome system dynamics.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and optimize assays to measure intracellular protein carbonylation and modification pathways during ultraviolet-induced skin cell aging.
- Assess lipid peroxidation and cross-linking of specific nuclear structural proteins with modern high-contrast mass spectrometry pipelines.
- Co-supervise incoming PhD candidates, maintaining raw database records, and draft scholarly journal manuscripts in Free Radical Biology & Medicine.
Candidate Specifications
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or closely matching physiological disciplines.
- Hands-on expertise in high-resolution chromatography (HPLC/LC-MS), immunochemical tracing, and fluorescent micro-imaging.
- Strong records of primary-author publications in peer-reviewed redox context journals.
